- In Minnesota, where Floyd died, Gov. Tim Walz announced a two-day curfew for Minneapolis and St. Paul from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m on May 29. On May 31, he extended the curfew one more day. On June 1, he further extended the curfew to June 3 and modified the hours from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- In New York, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced a curfew for New York City on Monday from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The mayor then extended it on Tuesday to start at 8 p.m. through the end of the week.

As tens of thousands of protesters continue to take to the streets over the death of George Floyd, a black man who struggled to breathe after a white police officer pinned him on the ground in Minnesota last week, curfews have been put in place in at least 40 US cities since Friday, May 29, per CNN.
In some states, such as New York and Minnesota, the governors have stepped in to mandate curfews for certain areas.
